The Sierra de María is literally the backyard of boutique bed & breakfast Casa Paco. Its highest peak, the Pico de María, is 2045 m high. It is part of the Parque Natural de la Sierra de María-Los Vélez, which covers the municipalities of Vélez-Rubio, Vélez-Blanco, María and Chirivel. The natural park covers an area of 226 km2.
There are many opportunities for mountain biking, hiking or trekking here. Don’t forget to enjoy the flora and fauna along the way!
